WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU'RE MISSING THE BOOLEAN SEARCH SETTING IN USERGROUP MANAGER Hello Community ![]() I'll give you a bit of back ground, we were running a 3.8.4 board and decided to upgrade to 4.0.1. When we finally took the plunge one of the first things people complained about was the search function. First of all no one liked the default behaviour when displaying results as posts. Secondly, when searching for a specific search term ie a thread title you wouldnf't get back any relevant results. I can only help with the second problem ![]() After much lots of support from Lynne we found that I didn't have the boolean search option. Props to Lynne for this translation for a fix by Onur. AdminCP>Usergroups>Usergroup Manager>Edit A usergroup. The heading your looking for is Forum Searching Permissions>Can use Boolean Search Mark that as yes and you should be good to go. Would be interesting to know how many people who upgraded from 3.8.x serious are missing the boolean search option, let me know. ![]() |
