Forum Database error (very annoying)

Hello, and thanks for reading my thread, that just shows you care,

I just bought vBulletin 4.03 Publishing Suite with the intention of installing it on http://www.alphaforums.com. But when I try to do this, I get the following error message.


Step 2) Connect to the database
Attempting to attach to database
Error description: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) /home/content/a/l/p/alphaforums/html/includes/class_core.php on line 312

The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file.




I have tried many things that implied modifying the /upload/includes/config.php file, in vain.
I have contacted both my web server (websitepalace.com) and the vBulletin support team, both of which referred me to the other...Thanks again for your help! I really owe one to the guy who solves this, as I have been tackling this problem for the past week...Thanks! __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
