In my industry (saltwater/marine forums) there are a few of us running the 4.0 with probs. All of us have one thing in common- Impex did not work properly! In my case there were no problems or errors reported by Impex. What did happen was about half my threads did not import. some that did import did not import the thread replies (thread is just a shell) I lost a lot of my members, and subforums were scattered out of their proper places in forums. These are all common errors for everyone I know.I myself imported over from MyBB. I have been told there is nothing else we can do . To cure this we created a link back to the old MyBB forum. Problem is nobody new that signs on accesses this and I really don't want to continue hosting 2 forums.
Today when I was experimenting trying to do a [url=" xxxxx.xxxx.xxxxxx] thing I got one of the threads to import over and can not get the process to repeat to save my life. Can anybody help me. I created a new thread and named it the old threads name and then put in the above mentioned piece. after that I am clueless how I made it work. I am not very well versed in this whole thing and tend to learn through experimenting. I wish I would have documented my process and I wouldn't be here asking you guys questions. is there anyone/anyway someone here can help me? if so you would be a friggin rockstar!
