Forum Rebuild postcount, thread info and titles/ranks

We've recently migrated our forums from SMf to vB. Users and posts are all set up in a test situation. While trying to get things running we've encoutered a big problem. Our forums have been running since 2002, but when in admincp/maintenance we try to 'update user titles and ranks' or 'rebuild thread info' it doesn't go further back than the vB installation date. This sets all users to 0 posts and makes the forum act like all posts before the install date are not existing, allthough they do show up on the actual forum.
Is there a way so I can set the date for these actions back tot september 2002?

Otherwise we'll have to manually enter all postcounts for over 3000 members....... __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
