Forum Inline images without asset manager?

A lot of my users are not exactly the most proficient computer users, so I have the asset manager turned off in my settings, to keep them from getting confused. The one feature I do like from the asset manager is the ability to put images inline when you upload them. Is there a way to do this with just the standard attachment feature, or do I need to turn the asset manager on to make this happen? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
