Immediate, Daily, and Weekly Blog Notifications

Blog email notifications currently do not get sent out to blog subscribers unless they regularly log into the site. As this is not the behavior of other blog products on the market, I would like to suggest that this be changed. There should be options for subscribers to receive immediate email notifications of all new blog posts of blogs they subscribe to without a requirement to log into the site first. It would also be nice to have an option for Daily email notifications (every new blog entry and comment made on subscribed blogs for that day), as well as Weekly email notifications.


There are many choices out there for blogs. vB has something going for them in the way the Suite organizes blogs for members of the community. But when it comes to email notifications, the current implementation is a blog killer. Bloggers require at least an immediate email notification option to notify them of all new blog posts without a requirement to login before they can receive those email notifications. This would also apply to guests being able to subscribe to blogs as well. Wordpress is a good example of the minimum options for email notifications. If that could be implemented as well as a few more options that they don't have...then vB Blogs would be well on its way to being the Blog component that is needed in this Suite. __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
