Forum Site forum path/internet address

Hi all, I just recently (3 days ago) upgraded my VB from 3.8 to 4.0.

I did a fresh install because for some reason the upgrade.php file wouldnt work. Well, after finishing the install into the same location and overwriting everything from the old version, now the only way to access my site is by going to http://halflifedclan.com/forums


Prior to the fresh install, http://halflifedclan.com was the direct link to the site. now I receive Quote:
Invalid forum path specified! Please edit this file and be sure to include the correct path for your $forumpath variable.

when attempting to go to that address.

I have edited the forum path in not only the index.php file but also in the config.php file and neither seemed to work, matter of fact, when I changed them, the entire site stopped working so I changed them back to what they were prior.

My question is; How do I get the main site url work again instead of having to put "/forums" at the end of it? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
