Forum Moving forum from /forums/ to root of domain

As I can't seem to get my CMS into the root and froum in /forums/, i thought the next best thing is to move the whole suit, forum, CMS and blog into the root.


so instead of www.mydomain/forums/, it will become www.mydomain

Up until now I have had a static homepage and a few others at the rrot, buit I can move all of that content into the CMS.

This way either the forum or CMS will become the "home" page of the domain.

Is there any reason why this is a bad idea, as long as I have 301 redirects for all the pages? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
