Forum Search issue (#2 - default search returns threads (yuck) and IE users have problems)

The generic search box on the nav bar - that has the little magnifying glass submit... It searches threads, not posts. My user community tells me it used to search (or at least return lists of) posts. Now that it returns threads, the IE users in my community say when they click on the thread - the internal (aka #post) link isn't working - their web page is at the top of the thread. (No they don't want to change the thread view just to see search results).

What I would like, is a way to have the generic search box return lists of posts, not threads. Yes, we can go into advanced search and request posts only, and that's what the default should be. Is that possible?

About the IE users - perhaps there's another thread here on vBulletin.com about that - it is a real issue in this situation for my community. __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
