Your PHP settings have been disabled by an H-Sphere administrator

It appears our webhosts added another security protocol and updated the php settings. Now when I try to change a custom title, add a user, change their usergroup via the admin panel I receive this error:

Your PHP settings have been disabled by an H-Sphere administrator.

Please bring your PHP configuration in compliance with admin settings or request your administrator to re-enable support of your settings.
You don't have permissions to access this page. This usually means one of the following:

• this file and directory permissions make them unavailable from the Internet.
• .htaccess contains instructions that prevent public access to this file or directory.

Please check file and directory permissions and .htaccess configuration if you are able to do this. Otherwise, request your webmaster to grant you access.


I've gone to the host and they say they added a mod_security to the server but have put in a manual exception for our site now but thats not fixed the problem.

The hosts are asking to see the error first hand...but that would mean giving them access to the admin panel (not something I'm overly happy to do unless really necessary)

I was wondering if their mod mucked up the CHMOD settings of the adminpanel directory? Can you tell me what the recommended CHMOD settings should be for the adminpanel directory?
Any other suggestions on how to fix it are welcome! __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
