Question about security updates

Im a 3.x owned user atm and my "subscription" so to speak ends in March. Since I own my license I can keep using my forum. I also have access to VB4.

My question is about security updates. I had planned on paying the 40 dollars to renew for updates, but that is no longer an option, and as a college student Im not planning on paying more than I paid for my forum simply for updates.


Does this mean I also do not get security updates? I head about the nasty little exploit that was recently discovered and fixed... I guess Im just curious if the next nasty exploit that is discovered after my time has expired... will I get that fix or does my software at that point and time just become a nice paper weight? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
