IP Search from AdminCP takes ~30 secs and freezes forum

I have a forum on which I premoderate memberships. Sometimes I run an IP check on users who have signed up. This usually takes about 30 secs (up to a minute sometimes) to complete. While the IP check is running, the forum itself freezes. When the IP check is complete, the forum becomes useable again. Does anyone else have this sort of problem? How did you solve it, if you did solve it. __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
