As you guys move forward with combining a forum with a powerful CMS, please consider a automatic backup system.

Under 3.8 I know we have the option to back up the files under the AdminCP but it stops there.

With a Add on we are able to backup the forums, gzip it up to conserve space and place them in a non readable directory.

In my opinion this should be part of the Install for any new forum. Just like setting up the Database and Forums, Usergroups etc.. this should be required to be set up.

When you strive to run a community either a hobby site or a commercial site we should not have to add stuff to get the basic job done right.


It's just one of those things I set up when I started, but I have set many non vBulletin sites up so it's second nature to me. For some that are new to running a site they may not think of it until it's too late. Gives these guys a leg up in your new code.
