modify php.config ??

I just had my site transfered to a new server. It is reachable by IP address only. But when I click something to test the site to make sure it works, I get taken to my active site on my older sever. I assume I need to modify something to keep my test activites on the new server. I want to update to 3.8.3 and then make a final backup before switching the DNS over to the new servers. So what do i need to modify to keep all my testing in the new server and not be forwarded to the old server? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
