How do I enter new msg box as verticle as side smiley box?

There's a lot of unused space there (due to the fact I have a lot of smilies). People are always complaining the white of the new msg box is too small anyway, but I also think it would look better if it came down flush.


How can I make it so that it comes down to the same verticle length of my smilies box?

PREFERABLY I'd like to have it go RIGHT across horizontally taking UP the smiley box space, and have the smilies listed in long rows across, above the msg text box... but that's probably not possible.
