Forum Move site to Root folder

Hi all,

my site is currently in a subfolder in my webroot directory. I dont really like how it is showing up in my URL bar and id like to move my forum to my webroot directory.

I am just woundering if its as easy as downloading my site folder and re uploading it into the root directory or if there are some things I would need to change. I have a couple posts on the site and members so I dont want to loose all of that.
