Avatar problems - some are not showing up
 

After upgrading to 3.8.4 P1* I had an issue with a member not being able to upload an avatar. I tried uploading it for him and it would not display in postbit or memberinfo* even though it was showing up fine in admincp for his profile (red x). I decided to take this opportunity to move avatars from the db to the file system. After doing so* all avatars were not showing up* even though the directory I moved them in was chmod 777. So I went into WinSCP and set all permissions of the directory recursively to 777* and that seemed to fix most of them (from what I've seen) but not all - it did fix the user in question* but I found others that are still broken. So I went in and rebuilt custom avatar thumbnails in admincp. That still hasn't fixed the problem. All that shows up for some people is a broken image (red x).

The postbit template is modified* but I have tried reverting it and that hasn't worked. Not sure what else to try at this point.
