Forum How do I find template/variable when looking at source? My question involves troubleshooting site issues. The issue might be a layout or a script or a style or something in the source itself. My problem is I simply can't find where some bit of code originates so I can change it! Case-in-point. I have VB 4.2.0 and there is a problem in the ckeditor. When I use Firebug to look at the source, I see the problem and I can edit the HTML and CSS in firebug to fix the issue, but I'm having a heck of a time finding out where the source originates so I can fix it at the top level. I've learned how to find CSS ok, as I can simply do a template search for the class names and can usually track them down. The main problem is I cannot find the HTML part to edit the element itself. In Firebug I see this bit of HTML when I view the page source: Code: I need to edit this to remove the inline style entirely. Frankly I don't know why the inline style exists in the first place because it's not in other identical elements on the page, but somehow it is on this one. I need to edit this very <span> but I don't know where the originated HTML is. Is it something I can find in templates? Is it actually in a js file on the server? Or in a php file, or are there HTML template files on the server that are not revealed in the VB template engine? Is entirely generated by scripts? If so, I still need to track it down somehow. No matter how much I look, I cannot find where this <span> is generated or how to change it. If I search templates for Code: span="cke_icon" nothing will show up. Likewise for any other search I make, based on the source in Firebug. A little help tracking this stuff down would be much appreciated! Thanks! |
