Forum Alternative options in vB 4.2.0 for sending email newsletters to users
 

One of our other admins has been trying Vertical Response (we use vB.4.2.0) and is not convinced by it. At the moment she wants to try MailChimp partly because Vertical Response don't tell you which of your members have decided to opt out of receiving emails so it is difficult to keep your own mailing list up to date; having tried Vertical Response it appears to her that in effect all that you're doing is exporting your mailing list to Vertical Response and losing control of part of your own database.

Does anyone else have any experience of using other mailing options?

Has anyone tried DBTech's VBMail mod here? They've got lots of interesting looking mods and they seem to update and support them. If you are using it, how easy is it to produce formatted HTML emails?

Anyone using MailChimp? If so, do you export the database directly, do you use the vBtise mailchimp mod here or do you do something else?
