Embedding a search result 1.X.X and/or 0.11
 

Need an idea for a site that is in transition.
I am trying to build a page, call it Coaches, that would contain a few sections with various information, and that also would have a section in the page for event dates that are already in the calendar.
I would like to have a search result that would display all the events categorized as say "Training". I realize it will take some php twiddeling on either a special template or embed the display link.

Open for ideas...

Reason I say for 1.X.X or 0.11 is the site is currently on 0.11 and am developing it in 1.X.X.
