mysterious parse error, only shows on who's online page
 

the error i am getting says:

my functions_online.php file has not been modified in any way, and there is no telling how long this error has been showing up, as i rarely visit the who's online page.

the error only manifests itself when a user's location is showing as "unknown location" on the who's online page. it is not limited to any specific user, and sometimes does not show up at all.

line 31 is showing (if i count down from the very top) to be:

i am not a coder by any standards. i am good at troubleshooting but this has me stumped. if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated :)
