The European powers created artificial nations within this region that to this day still exist, and they make up the six Arabic-speaking Gulf oil states, have a similar culture and are Sunni Muslims: Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates.
