Happy Birthday to my Board! (my small succuss story)
 

So my Chicago Photography board turns 1 today. :cool:

Threads: 2,055, Posts: 7,167, Members: 156, Active Members: 29

Now, you might say that is FAR from successful but I think I've come along way. At first, I was naive to think "If you build it, they will come"...WOW is that soooooo NOT true. maybe in 2002, but not today.

Up until just recently, I struggled with my boards identity. I wanted to become a comprehensive photography forum...but have come to realize, I am limited due to my domain name. http://chicagophotoshop.com/forums I have now embraced the fact that my forum is geared towards Chicago Photographers.


How I've run my board this past year...

- Installed a decent skin and many hacks from vb.org.

- Started with a few forums and expanded as my members and myself saw fit.

- Created a Myspace page for my Photography and amassed over 10k friends...and spammed them about my board.

- I hate to admit it, but one thing that has really helped me gain members, is spamming other LARGE photography boards. I post on many photography boards anyway, and would occasionally run into a Chicago person, I would pm them, inviting them to my board.

My board is currently active as its ever been. I hope to double in size by next May..and maybe one day be the premier location for Chicago Photographers....and anyone else who'd like to come by :D
