CHARSET inconsistency - is it a problem? Hi- Trying to get my system cleaned up after a server move, I've noticed that my Charset settings are inconsistent. I've dug around the forums, but can't find info on whether or not I really need to be concerned and if I need to re-encode (?) my database tables and/or fields or not to match everything else. My site is entirely English based, with no international language use, so I guess my biggest concern is database corruption and/or errors if I leave the charset setting alone. This is what I have right now: character_set_client utf8 character_set_connection utf8 character_set_database latin1 character_set_results utf8 character_set_server latin1 character_set_system utf8 character_sets_dir /usr/local/share/mysql/charsets/ collation_connection utf8_general_ci collation_database latin1_swedish_ci collation_server latin1_swedish_ci What do you guys suggest please? Thanks! Sy |
