Wordpress .htaccess file is stopping a hack help please!
 

Hi,

I want to use Zachery's hack that replaces .gif's with .png's but for some reason it wont work, now I spoken to my hosts and they replied with this:

"This hack will not work in your configuration as any file that does not exist (which would cause a 404) will be handed to Wordpress and managed by wordpress' 404 handler."

So is there anyway around this?
