Superfish fly-out menu for phpws
 

Here is a menu template / add-on for phpwebsite that will give you nice fly-out css menus for your phpws site. This add-on will give you horizontal menus by default, but can easily be configured for vertical menus. It is very customizable with numerous features.

One note... although this menu system works well in all browsers tested, you will likely have problems in Admin Mode if using Internet Explorer. There seems to be no problems with the admin tools using any other browser. I am unable to test with IE, not having a windows machine. If someone else works out the css bug(s) for the admin tools in IE, please PM me.

These are basic instructions for using the Superfish menu with phpwebsite. Superfish menu
is developed by Joel Birch. Please see http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/

1) put this folder in templates/menu/menu_layout/ so that it's location is
templates/menu/menu_layout/superfish/

2) make sure that LAYOUT_THEME_EXEC is set to true in
config/layout/config.php
define('LAYOUT_THEME_EXEC', true);

3) put the following line in themes/yourtheme/theme.php
javascript('jquery');

4) put the following lines in themes/yourtheme/theme.tpl just before the tag
note: this example is the default basic menu, see notes below for more options






5) go to Control Panel > Menu > List and edit the menu you wish to use, selecting the
superfish menu layout template

6) go to Control Panel > Menu > Settings and set "Use drag and sort" to off
(this isn't required, but drag and sort is a little tricky to use in this menu)

7) use the Layout mod to move your menu to a suitable location

8) customize templates/menu/menu_layout/superfish/style.css to suit

1) Superfish menu has numerous options. The initialization above will give you the default
horizontal menu (includes auto-arrows, shadows, animated fly-out transition). You may also
have vertical menus, navbar menus, variable width sub-menus, and numerous other options. For
