Al-Wasat Newspaper: Family of the detainee Abbas Malallah: our son needs medical care for his injury by "birds shotgun"

Family of the detainee Abbas Malallah expressed their concern about his health due to his need of medical care because of his injury by birds shotgun in his body. Abdulshahid (the detainee's brother" said: "That Abbas is married (37 years old) & has 3 sons & he has colon problems & ulcer in the stomach & complains of not receiving treatment & necessary medical care in detention, in addition to his suffering from severe pains from his lower back to his legs. He also suffers from bruises in the face & chest because of the beating he has been subjected to as he was fainted & stayed in ICU for more than a week".

He denounce the way Jao prison administration deals with his brother & said: "My brother is subjected to humiliating inspection when the family visit him & when he goes to court, in addition to sexual harassment. He even refuses to get out for the visit because of this treatment" & he indicates that the prison's administration intends to give us long intervals between visits unlike the other detainees who get 3 visits in the month demanding facilitating the visit considering that his wife & sons are eager to see him & this period implant fear & concern in them about their detained son.

On his side, lawyer Sayed Mohsin Al-Alawi mentioned that "Military prosecution charged the sentenced Abbas Hassan Ali Malallah of attempting murder with premeditation in addition to assembly & the national safety instance court had sentenced him in the hearing of "October" 15 years in jail for attempting murder & 6 months for assembly & we are still in the appeal hearings in the ordinary courts" & he signified that he will raise a complaint to public prosecution for what he was subjected to during his arrest through direct shooting of birds shotgun & that he is in poor health condition as he doesn't receive the necessary treatment in detention in addition to the bad treatment.

The detainee Abbas Malallah is accused of running over 9 police men in Nuwaidrat Area which ministry of interior declare in 17 May 2011& the ministry explained that the policemen while doing their duty in Nuwaidrat by dealing with a group that was trying to create vandalism & riot, a vandal got injured in his head & immediately, his brother drove his car in high speed & intended to run over the policemen of whom 4 were injured severely & 5 had different injuries while the car's driver had dispersed injuries & the injured were transferred to the hospital to receive therapy.
