problems uploading files
 

Having an issue with uploading of files

ERROR:

File system directory is not writable


Admincp/Diagnostics message:

No errors occurred while opening the uploaded file for reading.


the directory path for attachments is 777
I can do a forum backup via vbulletin to the same directory no problem, so the path is there and is writable.

any ideas would be welcome !!
