Blank white pages / Asking if I'd like to download file (i.e. search.php)
 

For the past several days I've noticed my site seemingly timeout and produce blank white pages which were fixed either through time or by having my host provider reset the MySQL service.

These blank pages don't produce MySQL error reports either. Also today I noticed at least for me, that instead of going to blank white pages it asks if I'd like to download the file itself instead. For instance if I pressed "New Posts" it eventually asked if I'd like to download "search.php"

My vbulletin is split between 2 servers. One for the database and the other for the site files themselves. We're pretty heavily attachment based too.

Now we're thinking that since the attachments are still on the weaker server with the rest of the files, that maybe it's causing an excess load. Do you know of any other sites with this many attachments, and if so, how do they optimize their setup to keep things running smooth?
