PAKISTANIS working in Bahrain's security forces claim their lives are being put at risk because they are not being given enough weapons to combat rioters.They called for the Pakistan Embassy to hold serious talks with authorities to come up with a resolution to the problem."Most of the policemen are trained Pakistani Jawan (soldiers), who are always on the frontline tackling the protesters," said one policeman."We need at least someone to support us and the embassy is the only hope and option. Why our embassy is not stepping in to speak to the Interior Ministry and asking them to provide protection to us?"We are attacked by the rioters and not allowed to use any kind of weapons against them, but tear gas."They are attacking us with dart nails, Molotov cocktails or home-made firebombs, swords, iron rods and knives and they use women and children as shields to protect themselves."We need to stop them before they attack us and then they claim we are killing their people. Self-defence is important, but who cares here? Does anyone know how many policemen are injured everyday?"Another policeman said various techniques were used to attack them and said protesters were making money out of it."I got to know they are earning money as there are people who pay them to attack us. They are also selling videos showing violence in Bahrain and attacks on their innocent people."Our embassy must come forward to speak to (Interior) ministry officials and ask them to provide safety measures, as the protests are continuing and there seems no solution."We need weapons or at least something that would help us in self-protection."Last time when we used guns, everyone targeted us and said we were wrong. But what if a protester comes in front, challenges us and then attacks with a knife or firebomb?"
