Temporary dual forum access? I have a vB test forum setup on a subdomain, with the existing Drupal forum imported successfully... it is working to a point where I'm happy to make the actual move to vB for our members on the parent domain. Drupal is installed in the root of the parent domain with its index.php file... I will be installing vB into the usual /forums folder. Can someone tell me if this line of thinking will work to still give me access to the (old) Drupal site until I'm totally done with it? Rename the existing Drupal index.php to index2.php, and make a new index file to point to /forums/index.php? (what would this look like?). This would take members visiting domain.com directly to the new vB. For me to bring up the old Drupal, I would enter domain/index2.php in my browser. Once totally done with Drupal, I could then delete all the Drupal content to free up server space. Your thoughts and comments please. Thanks, |
