Users Profile Enhancements - More Personalized
 

The vb profiles could give people their own mark on the internet with more custom options that appeal to end users:

• Their own style without being wrapped in the forum style and without admin having to hack the templates to make it happen.
• Easy profile url: domain.com/username (hopefully it comes with the new seo urls in vb4)
• Custom widget blocks -
  1. End user chooses 2-3 column profile page.
  2. End user has blocks they can move around on their profile. Left or right side, up or down. Keep the middle with the important vb info and comments, etc. Hide blocks that the user doesn't want to use/show.
  3. Custom blocks for the end user to make. Like what the blog offers.
  4. Admin can add custom "widget" blocks either from themselves, vb, vb.org, or elsewhere. These custom widget blocks can be chosen or not by the end user for their profile.
     Widgets could be anything imaginable..from latest 5 blog entries, latest replied to threads, a youtube video, horoscope sign, favorite list of links, banner, graphic gifts received from vbplaza, arcade winnings, rss feeds, what am I listening to now, a list of books, flash rotating pics, a quiz, a what ever anyone can imagine.

What made Myspace popular? Custom profile options! Most everyone I know or have talked to about the web has a Myspace profile. I don't like Myspace, but it is starting to flourish with more features. People want to have their mark on the internet while connecting with others. And they want to be able to personalize their mark.

Please give the profiles some more attention...
