(Cowboy bombast is probably what Iran's leaders most crave.) In any case, the 5th Fleet command in Bahrain has issued a somewhat wordier response: "The U.S. Navy is a flexible, multicapable force always ready to counter malevolent actions to ensure freedom of navigation."
