Received my first and only warning from Pirate Reports today
 

Having read numerous threads about "Howard" today, I understand the purpose of his business and what he has to do for vBulletin.

I recently implemented a new skin for my site and have spent many months figuring out how to make it work properly since I'm still a vBulletin newbie though I've owned my license since 2007. I've been switching back between the default template and the new UB template..both of which are accessible at the lower left of the screen. I also just uploaded an iPhone template..but that too has issues.

So I get this email today...saying I've ignored 2 emails already???? Uhm, how come this is the first one that I got? Howard, what are you doing to ensure that the people you are sending emails to, really are receiving them?

Maybe you should do Return Receipt type of email so you can confirm whether the sender has opened the email or not???

Then for you to go on and request Jelsoft to revoke my license and delete me for abuse??? As soon as I saw this letter, I saw the problem and promptly modified the template to include the missing info that I wasn't even aware was missing...yet you've already reported me as a problem.

I run a legit business. I pay for all my software and have upgraded each year so I could retain software updates and support. I just bought new software to build up on my vBulletin installation (vbadvanced dynamics)...yet by this simple accusation I'm reduced to that of a thief. Thanks Howard!

I'm not complaining of the fact that I was contacted about the missing copyright. I'm complaining about how the issue was handled. And that seems to be a common thread among those having to deal with Howard.

Jelsoft...please don't punish valid users of your software!!! We spend countless hours and $$$ trying to make the software work for our needs. If anything, additional leeway should be given to us to resolve issues before allowing Howard to request that we be deleted because he assumes that a non reply means we are ignoring him and "continuing abuse"!

Thanks for letting me vent.
