Initial commentary on the speech of the foreign affairs secretary of U 09-11-11 11:01 PM Initial commentary on the speech of the foreign affairs secretary of United States of America, Mrs. Clenton Despite our conservatism on the diplomatic language used by Mrs. Clinton in formulating her words we find it imperative upon us to clarify the following: These statements are drafted very carefully and contain an obvious promotion to Bassiouni report and what will be issued by him and his committee, which paves the way for the plan to come in order to pass a resolving plan that exonerate the authority and its symbols and achieve some of the public demands that are consonant in opinion at the minimum level through this report which is expected to be issued in 23rd Nov, 2011. We believe that it is not wise to give a blind approval without knowing or even ensuring what Bassiouni committee report contains and whether it provides the major conditions that are expressed clearly by the European parliament report or not which is the supervision of a neutral international human rights commission on the Committee's work and that is factually not existed, which wastes the credibility and impartiality of the committee’s work. Also, we can not give approval without ensuring the fairness of the committee’s report to the people who their rights have been violated, and making sure that it touches the basic problem in Bahrain which is the full and genuine partnership. We believe in Islamic Action society that US policy in Bahrain up to now did not support the people’s right to self-determination and did not prevent the clear violations from targeting the symbols of political action, the societies and the political entities, and did not prevent the military unjust trials against the Bahraini people (symbols, medics, academics, athletes and women). Moreover, the US foreign through its representative Mr. Veltman who is visiting Bahrain constantly, did not prevent the arbitrary termination that has reached a wide segment of the people and led to prevention of the right to work and decent living. All of those standards are overlooked by the United States, despite the repeated calls. We consider what will be issued by Bassiouni report as a good conduct certificate to the regime and a compensation fund for the damage holders, which is a further insult to the people who demands dignity and decent living.
