التحذير الثاني من السفارة الامريكية في المنامة Demonstration Notice - October 20, 2011 Spontaneous demonstrations take place in Bahrain from time to time in response to world events or local developments. United States citizens should keep current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times. If you encounter a large public gathering or demonstration, depart the vicinity immediately. - On Friday, 21 October at 1600 hours, an authorized demonstration is planned near Al Ma’ameer. - On Saturday, 22 October, the following unauthorized demonstrations are planned: - Near the intersection of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Hwy and Ave 40 (near Seef Mall and Bahrain Mall). No specific time was provided. Embassy will update as needed. - At 1500 hours, a vehicle demonstration is planned on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Hwy and King Faisal Hwy between the Burgerland Roundabout and the Diplomatic Area. - There are also plans to disrupt traffic at many intersections throughout Bahrain during the course of the day. Embassy will update as needed. - On Sunday, 23 October at 1030 hours, a demonstration is planned at the Bahrain University. We remind U.S. citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. U.S. citizens are therefore urged to avoid the areas of demonstrations if possible, and to exercise caution if within the vicinity of any demonstrations.
