Dear Sir/Madam,

On 23rd Septmber 2011, a group of men and women carried a protest rally in the biggest complex in Bahrain the City Center and were oppressed by security forces . The demonstrators were peaceful as opposed to what the government is claiming. Lawyer Reem Kahlaf had confirmed that 30 women had been arrested from the city center; most of them were beaten brutally (some of them had to taken to the hospital after they were beaten) The women were called names and they were gravelly insulted.

The protesters were peacefully demanding their rights; we do not understand why they had to be treated in such a barbaric way.

One of the main concerns for human rights organisations about Bahrain is the multiple violations against many Bahraini women who have suffered torture, abuse, detention and threats by the security forces. It shows clearly how little respect the Al-Khalifa monarchy and their security forces have for the female citizens of Bahrain.
