The Bahraini #Handprint Project by @jamesrose Here's the idea from @JamesRose on Twitter: How abt asking Shia & Sunni kids to make their hand prints, upload them and we can super them into a huge, ever growing e-image. This could be a wonderful & simple way to show that Sunni & Shia are TOGETHER in Bahrain, a counter to the Gvt's persistence that this is a sectarian uprising. Of course, kids of no faith, kids from Christian families, Hindu families, all kids, are included. Do join in. Have the kids do handprints, maybe draw round their hands and color them in, or use paint. We need just the handprint, no names. No identification. Have fun, then upload the image to me or James on Twitter. Use #handprint. We will collect the images & you can watch the result grow. It will be a good, dramatic way to show TOGETHERNESS in Bahrain From someone on Twitter: You reminded me of beautiful memories when I volunteered in rehabilitation centre. I worked with cute kids, don't care about they are Shia or Sunni. How would you put a smile on their face. At the end we printed our hands together in one cardboard, to express their happiness as one united group. :) I am really missing the time of volunteering beside my brothers, we were doing that for them whoever were, Sunni or Shia. |
