Civil Resistance - The Bahrain Siege - Tuk Al Karama I wanted to reply to the thread by Soul of Lulu on non-violent resistance but thought that this topic desrves a thread of its own! I am sure you guys must have heard by now, 14 Feb Youth have announced that they will be holding a protest on 21/22 of September called 'Tuk Al-Karama' aka the Bahrain Siege, in which protestors hope to bring the diplotmatic area/manama to a standstill by significantly slowing down the flow of traffic with the aim of bring it to a standstill. Now here is my theory: if the government are bothered, then you are definitely doing something right (e.g. bahrainonline being blocked in bh, any political figures speaking out in jail, etc), reflected by the various articles in the non propaganda machine called the GDN, BNA etc: http://www.gulf-daily-news.com/NewsD...storyid=313783 http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/bahrai...ences-1.870072 The thread on the arabic forum explaining the event: http://bahrainonline.org/showthread.php?t=276997 Here is a nice video outlining instructions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ecea27Uxwo Some people may consider this to be an extreme measure; but i for one am 100% behind this and will be taking part myself. I think we have suffered a great deal at the hands of this brutal regime and must resort to ways which hurt the regime without harming anybody. Your thoughts! |
