Forum User getting unwanted thread subscription emails

I've gotten this report from a user:

I keep getting daily emails even tho I unsubscribed to all threads, and disabled auto subscriptions..

I checked his profile in the ACP, and it does indicate "Do not subscribe" in the settings. I'm not sure yet if he wants to delete the subscriptions completely, or just the email notifications, so I haven't run ACP > Threads & Posts > Unsubscribe on his user name just yet. I just want to know if there's anything else I need to check to resolve the issue?
