Large Server MySQL config issue maybe?
 

Hi all. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, pls move this if it's not. We have a three-server configuration to run vBulletin, a primary webserver, a database server, and then a slave server. We've setup the slave according to the config file (set slave in the config.php file). All three machines are running Windows Server 2003. This configuration worked perfectly for several weeks, but now, I'm getting intermittent errors every once and a while that look like this:

I've checked the error logs on both database servers - there's a few blips where it says the slave had trouble connecting to the master, but then it retries quickly after that and connects (according to the logs). Nothing seems to be happening at the time that I get these messages (I get about 10-20 in a row, in quick rapid fashion). It's obvious that the database server is not accepting connections for some reason, but I can't track it down. It's been running near flawlessly on the non-slave configuration for the past few years. MySQL server version 5.0.51b. If this problem continues, I suppose one potential fix would be to upgrade to 5.1 and try that.

Any suggestions? Again, this problem only started happening about 2-3 weeks after we added the slave server.
