Forum Step 2 error on hostgator: "failed to connect because you do not have permission"
 

Hi guys,

I'm trying to install on hostgator and I'm getting the following error in step 2:

Step 2) Connect to the database
Attempting to attach to database
Error description: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'davidson_vbpohu'@'localhost' (using password: YES) /home/davidson/public_html/philosophyofhappiness.com/includes/class_core.php on line 313
The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file.



I've double checked the database name, username and user permissions and they are all correct. Every other piece of software I've installed has used 'localhost' as the server name and Hostgator has confirmed this is correct.

Does anyone have any ideas?
