Forum password protect admin cp

In this thread, the tip number 3 about password protecting Admin Cp directory

I followed the xact same steps very carefully.. But when i access my admin cp, it does ask me for username and password.. but even if I enter wrong password or press cancel it still take me to admin cp without given me no permission error..and anytime u click any link in admin cp its gonna ask again for id n pass... upon entering right id n pass.. it would stop asking.. but if you enter a wrong pass.. it will will keep asking but its gonna let u enter the and do whatever u want...

Is there anyway, I fix it.. like, if i type wrong password or does not enter anything... it should prevent user showing a admin cp..
