Thanks to Lynne I've gotten this far. The app is set up. The FB ID and secret numbers are in place and triple verified. The app has migrated out on FB's servers.
I log out of FB and log in at my forum. I click on the f connect button and get an error that says the given url is not allowed by the app. I though it may be too soon after getting set up so I wait till this morning. No joy there either.
I took some screen shots to show how it's set on the FB end and the error I get when trying to connect from my forum. I erased confidetial info for security reasons.
My forum is sitting in the root directory if that has any bearing on this. It's not buried in another folder.
