Forum Closing old threads
 

I know there is probably an answer to this right in my face somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

I've had a few new users join my forum, and as they browse they reply to old posts, like 4-5 year old threads. This causes problems, as some of these threads were started by members no longer with us, or the topics are way out of date.

I've seen in other forums that older threads are closed to new posts, or if someone tries to reply, they get a message informing them that this is an old thread and are they really sure they want to respond.

THE TRICK PART: I have several forum sections that I would not want this to apply to, as these are reference sections that members actually do need to add to over time.

Am I asking for too much, or is there an easy way to do this?
