dummy data / load test
 

Hello everybody,

we are launching our board on Wednesday and need to make a load test to see if the server (virtual server in fact, 4 CPU, 8GB RAM) is doing well. Board version is 3.8.4. Is there a (easy) way to fill the board with approximately 500 threads and 10 replys each? Maybe a sql-file with sample data!? And more important: Is there an easy way to simulate 200+ simultaneous reading user!?
The only tool i can think of is jmeter, but its seems to be very time consuming to setup the test. ab (apache benchmark) isn't the right tool i think, its too simple and will just fetch the provided url as fast as possible, which will definitely raise the server load to the max.

Any ideas!?
