Why should I upgrade to vB 4.x?
 

Hello!

I am currently running a moderately used forum for collectible card games (and other non-computer games) at www.cardmasters.de - while at the same time producing the fantasy CCG Warlord: Saga of the Storm.

Now I am looking at upgrading my business and websites and wondering whether updating the forum makes sense along the line.

Apart from obvious forum functionality I pretty much only use the awards add-on and some others:

as well as two plug-ins a friend who set up the system for me installed:

Template Modification System
Phrase Type Manager

So all in all it's pretty virgin ;-).

In additional this there is a card data base at www.warlordccg.de/uwodb, which currently is a stand-alone and in need of updating. Ideally I would love it to be part of the forum and accessible to everybody (there is a member only part of it, which should then be accessible to members of a certain member group only).

Now I am a bit hesitant about renewing my license and updating to 4.x ("never change a running system"), so I need a bit of convincing?

1. Would I be able to integrate UWODB into the new forum (using the forum login)?
2. What new features would offer vB 4.x for my community that makes it a better experience for my players and possibly even allows me to generate some advertisement money on the side?

Any convincing on your side would be appreciated ;-).
