Forum Mod Rewrite URL Problem

Hi i'm having a problem with mod rewrite urls, it worked fine at first .. but now instead of domain.com/forums/thread .. it now says domain.com/forums/forums/thread and therefore results in 404

Can anyone tell me what happened ?
