Forum Search SPEED????
 

ONE of the greatest thing I LOVE about coming to this VB Forum....is that MOST of the time....if I'm asking the question.....hundreads before me have already asked the question!

OK.....so.....when I had the GO BUTTON HERE....just a few seconds pasts and UP POPS THE ANSWER!!!

My board is no where as big as this one.....but it is big....and my members LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to search...I have 1.7 million posts all together.....and like I said...they love searching.

So....on any given day...I'll have 100+ people all online at the same time....and when they all start seaching.....GOODNESS....I can tell.....things clog up!!!!

And....unlike here.....my searches usually that several minutes!!!

Would there be a way for me to know ALL of your setting on this site as far as SEARCH is concern?

Also.....if there is something BETTER than the vb4.xx search features......is it something that can be added on?

I just upgraded to 4b4.....had to move my entire server to a new location because of the minimum requirements.....my forum has been down for 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been promising everyone that when it comes back......THE NUMBER ONE THING that they will see is MUCH FASTER SEARCHES........can you help me deliver on my promises????

IF you would like for me to post a screen capture of all of my search options.....I'll be happy to do that.

OR.....tell me where to go to read what is the best way to configure my search features.

PLEASE HELP ME make good on my promise.
