Forum File permissions, hacker proofing as best I can
 

Ok, I'm a novice, but I do know a pretty good amount of UNIX operating systems.... and I'm running on a Linux shared grid server with Godaddy.

So is there a way to close any open or back doors easily? Is there a script to run that checks/sets file permissions so that I'm not wide open to easy hacks?

Appreciate any help...
